]]>Carrie Underwood has announced that she won’t be back as host of the CMA Awards in 2020.
The country music star first hosted the show in 2008, and has served as its host for the past 12 years. For the first 11 years she shared the reins with Brad Paisley and after Paisley stepped down from his hosting duties, she shared duties with Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire.
Underwood took to Instagram to announce that she is stepping down from her hosting duties.
“One of the highlights of 2019 and of my entire career so far was being on stage with the legends that are Reba and Dolly Parton,” Underwood said in her post. “I’m so proud that we could celebrate the incredible female artists that are part of the legacy of country music, past, present and future, and I’m thankful for the huge audiences all over the world that tuned in to see it.
“It’s hard to believe that it was my 12th year hosting and I will always treasure every show, from the 11 that I was so lucky to do with my partner in crime and friend for life, Brad Paisley, to sharing the stage with two of my all-time heroes. I’m so incredibly grateful to everyone involved with the CMA Awards all these years.”

]]>Underwood posted a set of three photos, showing each member of the family holding her newborn son Jacob Bryan Fisher in their arms. It’s easy to tell they are all filled with joy to welcome him home, especially his big brother Isaiah Michael Fisher.
“His mom, dad and big brother couldn’t be happier for God to trust them with taking care of this little miracle! Our hearts are full, our eyes are tired and our lives are forever changed. Life is good…” wrote Carrie Underwood on Instagram.
She met retired ice hockey player Mike Fisher after one of her concerts in 2008, and the couple tied the knot two years later during a lavish ceremony in Greensboro, Georgia. They welcomed their first child in 2015, and couldn’t wait to expand their family ever since.

]]>Carrie Underwood was surrounded by her family and friends during the ceremony. Fellow country singer Brad Paisley and her American Idol mentor Simon Cowell also showed up to support her.
“I actually couldn’t be more proud of you for presenting you this and you did it your way. I am so happy for you and I’m thrilled to be saying this. I love you and you are a total, total star,” said Cowell.
It’s been 13 years since her American Idol victory, but Underwood is still aware she wouldn’t be where she is today if people didn’t support her back then. She thanked everyone who believed in her and inspired her to keep on going – including the judges, the voters and her family.
“How is this my life? How does a girl from Checotah, Oklahoma, get a star on the Walk of Fame? I will tell you: belief… Thank you for believing in me as a human, as a wife, as a mom, and supporting me through all of this,” said Carrie Underwood, while addressing her husband Mike Fisher and their son Isaiah.

]]>The vibrant clip for Underwood’s new song features dozens of joyous and uplifting scenes. It shows a group of people walking in the same direction and ending up covered in rainbow dust, while the singer watches on.
Underwood wanted to send a message of hope and unity with her new single. She hopes “Love Wins” will remind people to celebrate diversity, and accept those who are different.
“We wanted to let people listen to it and think, ‘Hey I want to be nicer to people today. I want to befriend someone that thinks differently than I do.’ We just wanted to provide a message of hope. I feel like we did that, and I do think that Love Wins,” said Underwood.
This is the second single for her upcoming album Cry Pretty. It’s hitting the shelves on September 14, and the three-time Grammy winner is hoping her fans will be satisfied with it as much as she is.
“At this point in my career, I feel stronger and more creative than ever. I think you can hear that in this new album. It’s emotional, it’s soulful, it’s real, and we also have some fun on there too. I hope everyone loves it as much as I have loved making it,” said the singer.

]]>“On Friday night, Carrie Underwood took a hard fall on some steps outside her home,” her rep said in a statement. “While there were no life-threatening injuries, she was taken to the hospital to be treated. She sustained multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions from the fall.”
Her representative added that Mike Fisher, Underwood’s husband, “was able to make it back into town that night to be with her and she was released from the hospital.”
“Her recovery will take some time and she appreciates all prayers and well wishes,” the rep continued.
Due to the injury, Underwood was unable to play the Country Rising benefit concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Sunday night, according to The Tennessean.
The same day, the country singer gave fans an update on her wellness on Twitter. “Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody…I’ll be alright…might just take some time…” she tweeted. “Glad I’ve got the best hubby in the world to take care of me.”
