Multiple outlets confirm that the network has opted to end its drama, God Friended Me, after only two seasons. The season two finale will now be set as the series finale. 

“We’re extremely proud of the unique concept and uplifting stories God Friended Me has told over the past two seasons,” CBS and WBTV said in a joint statement. “We thank the brilliant cast, writers, production team and crew for a show that stirred thoughtful conversation about faith, life, and happiness and made viewers feel good at the end of each episode. The creative team behind the show has one last ‘friend suggestion’ in mind, as well as an ending we hope brings a satisfying conclusion to Miles’ journey in search of the God Account.”

God Friended Me starred Brandon Micheal Hall alongside Violett Beane, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie, Joe Morton, and Erica Gimpel.

CBS has scheduled an hour-long special featuring Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. The husband-and-wife duo will broadcast the special from their home studio. 

“We’re seeing how big things can be when we all do them as one,” Brooks and Yearwood said in a statement in announcing the prime-time show, adding that they and CBS “will donate $1 million to charities to be determined, combating the COVID-19 virus.”

“After we saw Garth and Trisha crash Facebook, we reached out to them about bringing this Studio G to a larger audience in a safe and exciting way,” said Jack Sussman, CBS’ executive VP for specials, music and live events, in a statement. “With Garth and Trisha coupled with the power of broadcast television, anything can happen, making this an event not to be missed.”

Second in command to him and always in his shadow, Sam rises to the occasion when he falls into a coma and she takes charge of the department as chief of surgery. Sam comes into her own professionally and personally, however, her world is upturned again after Griff awakens and wants to practice again, even if it means being supervised by his daughter.

Bush’s other television credits include Love, Victor and This Is Us.

Ben-Adir joins previously announced Jeff Daniels, cast in the role of the former FBI director, with Brendan Gleeson set to play President Donald Trump. Also starring are Brian d’Arcy James as former FBI Deputy Director Mark Giuliano, Steve Zissis as FBI General Counsel James A. Baker, and Shawn Doyle as Bill Priestap, assistant director of the FBI Counterintelligence Division.

Star Dana Delany confirmed the news on Twitter after the show wrapped its first season Tuesday night.

The suspense drama Ransom will end after season 3. News of the cancellation was confirmed via the show’s official Twitter account Wednesday.
