We also get to see the rest of the cast – including Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern and Meryl Streep – bringing their characters to life.
Gerwig shared the exclusive first look with Vanity Fair and explained why she decided to adapt Louisa May Alcott’s classic tale. She always identified with her heroine Jo March, because she was the person Gerwig wanted to be, and that’s why filming Little Women felt like a deeply personal experience.
“This feels like an autobiography. When you live through a book, it almost becomes the landscape of your inner life… It becomes part of you, in a profound way.” said Gerwig while chatting with Vanity Fair.

]]>François Civil is one of the most beloved young actors in his home country of France, but the international audience also got to know him thanks to his roles in horror film As Above, So Below and black comedy Frank from 2014.
Florence Pugh got her big break in 2016, thanks to her sublime performance in Lady Macbeth. She received the British Independent Film Award for this film and went on to get a BAFTA Rising Star nomination.
Pugh is set to appear in period drama Little Women and stand-alone Black Widow movie. The Chopard Trophy Award gave her an opportunity to reflect on all the amazing things she’s already done.
“You are constantly moving forward and pushing yourself, so it’s really wonderful to have people recognize the work and force you to celebrate it in a sense. I think everyone in this industry forgets to do this, as we are all looking for what’s next,” said Pugh during the ceremony.

]]>Marvel’s standalone superhero film will be directed by Australian filmmaker Cate Shortland. Shortland is best known for the Nazi drama Lore.
According to Variety, Marvel met with several actresses but zeroed back in on Pugh after she earned good reviews for her performance on Fighting With My Family.
Plot and character details have been kept under wraps, so it is unclear what character Pugh will play should she officially join the production. It is known that the film centers on Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, a spy, and assassin who grew up being trained by the KGB before becoming an agent of SHIELD and Avenger. The character of Black Widow was first introduced in Iron Man 2 in 2010.
