]]>Donda hit the no. 1 spot after selling 309,000 equivalent album units during its debut week on the chart – including 272,000 streaming-equivalent album units and 37,000 pure album sales. It surpassed Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour to score the largest album debut of the year—but that’s just the beginning.
Donda also cemented West’s status as one of only seven artists with ten no. 1 albums atop the Billboard 200. He joined in the ranks of The Beatles (19), Jay-Z (14), Bruce Springsteen (11), Barbra Streisand (11), Eminem (10), and Elvis Presley (10), but the list could soon include Drake with his latest album Certified Lover Boy.
Despite mixed reviews, West managed to create a lot of buzz for Donda since its release on August 29th. In addition to topping the Billboard 200 chart, his latest studio effort also had one of the biggest debuts on streaming services Spotify and Apple Music.

]]>Donda will be the rapper’s 10th studio album and it follows West’s 2019 Grammy-winning gospel record Jesus Is King.
News of the upcoming album was announced during Game 6 of the NBA Finals with a Beats by Dre ad. The ad features Sha’Carri Richardson running to the track “No Child Left Behind” in slow motion while wearing Beats by Dre earbuds. Kanye repeatedly sings, “He’s done miracles on me.”
Over the weekend there was lots of speculation about a new album from the rapper. On Monday, he announced there would be a listening event in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday. The listening event will also be live-streamed globally via Apple Music.
West posted the ad on Instagram as well as photos with his face covered, wearing gold chains with his children’s names on them.

]]>The ultra-successful rapper dropped his latest music video on Thanksgiving.
“Closed on Sunday” is the fourth track off the Jesus Is king album and is a reference to the popular fast-food chain that shuts down every Sunday to abide by their founder’s Christian faith.
The two-and-a-half minute is a real family affair starring the entire West-Kardashian clan but also West’s mother-in-law Kris Kenner, and sister-in-law Kourtney Kardashian and her little ones, Mason, Penelope, and Reign Disick. West’s gospel choir also makes an appearance.

]]>The gospel-inspired studio album, which dropped on October 25, has hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
The album sold 264,000 equivalent album units in the US in the first week, according to Nielsen Music, with streaming being the majority of that number and the remaining 109,000 in album sales.
Now that West has had nine consecutive peak debuts, he is officially tied with Eminem for the most consecutive No. 1’s on the Billboard 200 charts. His only album to miss the No. 1. spot was 2004’s The College Dropout, which peaked at No. 2.

]]>West tweeted Monday that the delayed album is officially dropping in just a few days.
“JESUS IS KING OCT 25th,” the rapper tweeted, alongside an image of a blue vinyl record with his name and the album title.
The album was originally supposed to debut September 27, but, According to Entertainment Weekly, West told fans at the Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience event at George Washington University on October 12, that the album is delayed because he is “making it better for y’all.”
A companion IMAX film, also titled Jesus Is King, is scheduled for release on the same day.

Coachella shared a clip of the rapper announcing the news, with worshipers attending one of his “Sunday Service” sessions.
“We were out in Palm Springs and they took us to a little campground, because we were thinking about a little performance in Palm Springs, just a little one. Then they had a mountain, he had a mountain waiting for us,” said West.

]]>The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star confirmed the news on Monday’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. The news that she and her husband were expecting another child via a surrogate were revealed earlier this month.
“Are you working on another child?” Cohen asked.
“We are,” Kim confirmed.
Kim also confirmed that baby no. 4 is a boy, which means that the couple will have an even number of sons and daughters.
“Do you know if it’s a boy or girl?” Cohen continued.
“We do. It’s a boy.” said Kim.
”What?” Kourtney Kardashian exclaimed. “Obviously I knew that, but I didn’t know you were telling everybody.”
Kim and Kanye are already parents to 5-year-old daughter North, 3-year-old son Saint, and their daughter, Chicago, will celebrated her first birthday on Tuesday.
“Kim and Kanye have known for a while and are very excited. They had one male embryo left and are thrilled it has worked out,” the source told E! Online. “Kim always wanted four kids and having two boys and two girls feels perfect. They were very happy with the entire experience the first time and are so grateful to have one more baby.”
According to the source, Kim and Kanye will meet their new baby sometime in May.

]]>The 25-year-old singer-songwriter has opted to pull out as the musical guest for Saturday Night Live’s 44 season premiere. She was replaced by Kanye West.
Grande who is engaged to Pete Davidson, currently a cast member on the comedy sketch show, chose not to perform as she’s having a “tough month.” During this week’s Origins podcast, Lorne Michaels told James Andrew Miller that the 44-year-old rapper was tapped to replace Grande:
“We had Ariana drop out for emotional reasons two days ago,” Michaels said on the episode released Thursday. “That’s our premiere, and then Kanye West stepped up, and he’ll be there. So, the reach of the show and the number of people who will step forward is now somehow now, I think, probably at its peak.”
Grande has indeed had a tough month with her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller dying of an overdose at 26-years-old.
“Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend,” Grande’s team said in a statement. “She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without a deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding.”
Grande also took to Twitter to thank her fans for their support writing, “I’m so tired pls. … ty for loving me sm I do not deserve it.”
