]]>The fourth season of Only Murders in the Building will see Charles, Oliver, and Mabel trying to solve the murder of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), Charles’ long-time stunt double. Season 4 will open with the leading trio taking a trip to Los Angeles before returning to The Arconia.
Nanjiani joined the cast in a mystery recurring role, but we know that his character will be integral to this season’s investigation.
He joined the likes of Eugene Levy (Schitt’s Creek), Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives), and Molly Shannon (The White Lotus), who were previously cast in recurring roles. Meryl Streep is also set to return as a struggling actress Loretta Durkin, reprising her role from Season 3.
Nanjiani got his big break with HBO’s Silicon Valley and went on to star in The Big Sick, Eternals, and The Lovebirds. He received an Emmy nomination for Welcome to Chippendales and will next be seen in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

]]>Christensen’s return in the role of Darth Vader has been confirmed back in December. In early March, the Game of Thrones actress Indira Varma joined the series in an unspecified role, before the cast list was expanded even further, to include a couple of familiar faces.
Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse are set to return as Luke Skywalker’s Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, who first appeared in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. They took care of baby Luke after Anakin Skywalker turned to the dark side and eventually became Darth Vader.
The cast of this highly-anticipated series will also include Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. Obi-Wan Kenobi will start filming later this month, and its official release date is yet to be revealed.

]]>Multiple outlets confirm that The Big Sick and Silicon Valley star has been cast in the political thriller, which is being introduced to buyers by The Exchange at the Berlin Film Festival.
Nanjiani will reportedly portray a journalist who uncovers a conspiracy, which places the fate of the election in his hands with America’s first viable independent presidential candidate poised for victory.
“Kumail is a great actor with global recognition and he serves as the cornerstone for an incredible ensemble cast that we are excited to announce shortly,” said Brian O’Shea of The Exchange.

The feature is based on the 1976 comic book series created by Jack Kirby. The story follows the super-powered and near-immortal beings known as Eternals and a more monstrous offshoot known as the Deviants that were created by cosmic beings known as Celestials.
According to The Hollywood Repoter, Angelina Jolie is also on board and is set to play Sersi, an outgoing Eternal who is not afraid to move amongst humankind. Details about what character Nanjiani would play are being kept under wraps.
Chloe Zhao is directing from a script penned by Matthew and Ryan Firpo.

The story follows a brilliant reclusive scientist who, using his homemade time machine, gathers a roundtable of the greatest minds in history to solve all of humanity’s problems. Unfortunately, his plan fails to take into account language barriers, ancient racism and the tendency of medieval men to commit murder. Instead of learning from these Great Men of History, our hero has no choice but to hunt them down and blast them to the past before they can ruin our future.
You can see Nanjiani next in Sony’s Men in Black: International, salted to premiere June 14. He’s also set to star in CBS’s reboot of The Twilight Zone and will reprise his role on HBO’s Silicon Valley.

]]>As part of their aim to recognize Hollywood’s best work of the year, Dick Clark Productions announced on Monday that the cast of The Big Sick will be receiving the Hollywood Comedy Ensemble Award.
The rom-com was an instant hit with a 98% “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Is stars Holly Hunter and Ray Romano who play the parents of grad student (Zoe Kazan) who falls in love with a struggling comedian from a Pakistani family (Kumail Nanjiani). In fact, The Big Sick is based on the real-life courtship between Nanjiani and a grad student who fall in love and their struggle due to culture differences.
Also confirmed on Monday as honoree is Jamie Bell, who will receive the New Hollywood Actor Award for his work in Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool. Previously announced honorees include Blade Runner 2049 producers A. Kosove, Broderick Johnson and Cynthia Sikes Yorkin who will receive the Hollywood Producer Award, and Sam Rockwell and Allison Janney, who will receive the Hollywood Supporting Actor and Actress Awards respectively.
