The release of the tracks Friday follows a teaser Hawke dropped earlier in the week, sharing snippets of one of the songs on Instagram. She also took the opportunity to announce a performance at the Sultan Room in Williamsburg on August 21.

The Stranger Things star joins her co-stars, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, Gaten Matarazzo, and Finn Wolfhard, who have all ventured into the music scene. 

The two singles, “To Love a Boy” and “Stay Open,” were written by Hawke while Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jesse Harris, best known for working with Norah Jones, wrote the music. The tracks feature Hawke’s vocals paired with “some soft guitar strumming and a number of pared-down instruments.”

Hawke most recently starred in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Young’s Harvest Moon: A Gathering, is a charity concert to benefit The Bridge School and The Painted Turtle. It is the first major benefit show for Bridge School, which allows children with serious medical conditions to get an education free of charge, in three years.

This year’s show follows the very popular annual Bridge School Benefit series that ran between 1986–2016. The concert series was held at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, and over the years more than 100 artists including Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Metallica performed and helped raise money for the school. 

The daytime benefit concert will take place at the Painted Turtle camp north of Los Angeles on September 14.

“Shortly after the date for the event was selected and Young agreed to perform, organizers realized that September 14 was the day of the night of the Harvest Moon, which enhances the specialness of the occasion,” a press release explains. “Included with each ticket is an all-star celebrity chef picnic cooked and served by Southern California’s top chefs, and a beer and wine tasting from select California breweries and wineries.”

It has been well over a decade with no new music from the all-female group. 

But now we have an official announcement from band members Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire who took to social media Tuesday to confirm that after 13 years they have new music on the way. 

The three were joined by producer Jack Antonoff in the video announcement shared on Maines’ Instagram account.

The clip features Maines exclaiming “Dixie Chicks!” before turning the camera to Robison and Maguire who chime in with “Album!” and “Coming!” with Antonoff closing the vid with “Someday!”

A new album was first teased last year with a series of photos shared by Maine that featured Antonoff and Bleachers frontman. The post was captioned with #dcx2018.

Dixie Chicks last album was 2006’s Taking the Long Way. It won two Grammys for Album of the Year as well as Best Country Album.

With no location, no ticket sales and no financial backing, it looks like Woodstock 50 is shaping up to be another failed festival. 

The music festival, which paved to way to huge musical events such as Coachella, Stagecoach, and Lollapalooza, and is claiming to compete with them offering a different experience to festival-goers is simply not taking off.

“We are looking for unique performances,” Lang told Rolling Stone. “A lot of festivals these days are kind of cookie-cutter. Very few of them have any sort of social impact [and] that’s a wasted opportunity.”

The 50th-anniversary three-day concert event in celebration of the original Woodstock, held in August 1969, was announced back in January by Michael Lang, the co-creator of Woodstock. But since that announcement, it seems that the festival is shaping up to be a major failure.

In March 2019, the line-up for the festival was revealed and tickets were to go on sale on Earth Day. Earth Day came and no tickets were made available with no reason offered by festival organizers. 

“There is currently a hold on the Woodstock 50 on-sale date. We are waiting on an official press statement from Woodstock 50 regarding updated announce, ticket pricing, and overall festival information,” an e-mail by the festival’s organizers read, per Rolling Stone. “We will get this information to you as soon as we receive it.”

It was then reported that the organizers haven’t secured all the necessary permits to hold the event. And if that wasn’t bad enough, a week later, the festival’s primary financial partners announced that the event is canceled. 

“It’s a dream for agencies to work with iconic brands and to be associated with meaningful movements. We have a strong history of producing experiences that bring people together around common interests and causes which is why we chose to be a part of the Woodstock 50th Anniversary Festival. But despite our tremendous investment of time, effort and commitment, we don’t believe the production of the festival can be executed as an event worthy of the Woodstock Brand name while also ensuring the health and safety of the artists, partners, and attendees,” Dentsu Aegis Network’s Amplifi Live said in a statement to USA Today. “As a result and after careful consideration, Dentsu Aegis Network’s Amplifi Live, a partner of Woodstock 50, has decided to cancel the festival.  As difficult as it is, we believe this is the most prudent decision for all parties involved.”

Grammy-winning musical icon has just announced that he is heading to Sin City for his very own Las Vegas Residency. 

“Sting: My Songs” will include 16 performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The first show will be held on May 22, 2020, with the rest of the dates scheduled for June, August, and September.

A press release announced that the show will feature a “compendium” of his legendary catalog, with “dynamic, visual references to some of his most iconic videos and inspirations.”

“Visually, sound-wise, dancing — it’s going to be a Vegas show. I’m really committed to that,” the former Police frontman said in an interview with the Associated Press. “I am a little frightened and a little excited at the same time.”

According to the Rolling Stone, tickets will begin at just $59 and there will be “a limited number of VIP meet & greet packages.” 

Tickets for the general public go on sale May 3.

The hip-hop legends will be co-headlining a tour this summer. The 22-date run debuts July 11 in West Palm Beach, Florida. The summer tour will run through September and will include shows in Atlanta, Detroit, St. Louis, and San Francisco. Interestingly, no date has been announced in the duo’s mutual hometown of New York.

Given Blige’s record as a super successful tour coheadliner, having previously gone on tour with Jay-Z and Maxwell, it’s fair to assume that the tour will be a major success. This will be Blige’s first tour since her 2017 Strength of a Man tour. 

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 19.

Her second Las Vegas residency Britney: Domination was put on hold until further notice. It was supposed to launch on February 13, with a total of 32 shows planned through August this year. Despite the fact they won’t get to hear her perform, Britney’s fans sent her love and support on Twitter and Instagram and wished her father a fast recovery.

BTS fans are losing it over the South Korean boy band’s new single, a collaboration with Steve Aoki. BTS and Aoki first teamed up when they worked on the song “Mic Drop,” which, according to group member RM was inspired by President Barack Obama’s mic drop at the 2016 White House Correspondents’ Dinner,

The track, titled “Waste it on Me,” is the group’s first official full-length song entirely in English.

“We’re happy for this meaningful and heartfelt collaboration,” BTS said in a press release. “The song is just so amazing, we really enjoyed working on it. It’s our first song that is entirely in English. It was refreshing and fun to record the song. We hope this would be a good present for our fans.”

“I’m so psyched to share this collaboration with one of the most exciting and inspiring group of guys I’ve met in the past few years,” added Aoki. “It’s an absolute honor to work with them once again on ‘Waste It on Me.’ I can’t wait for my fans to hear what’s in store for them next on this third installment of Neon Future.”

The track was released on Thursday and will be featured on Aoki’s upcoming album, Neon Future III, out November 9.

After being snubbed earlier this week, missing out on an Emmy nomination, Mandy Moore returns to the recording studio after almost a decade. 

The last time Moore released an album was nine years ago, but the singer treated fans with a teaser of what’s to come sharing “a little demo” of a new song she’s recording.

“Getting back to it. It’s time. I miss it. I’m not scared anymore. No more excuses. No more allowing someone’s else insecurities to dictate my relationship to music and singing. Boom,” Moore captioned the audio snippet. “Also – this is just a little demo of something @themikeviola and I worked on yesterday… but still, it’s a start! ”

Moore’s debut album dropped in 1999 and she has released six LPs in total, the last of which was Amanda Leigh, in 2009. In recent years, however, her acting career had eclipsed her music career, but it seems that Moore has never lost her passion for getting behind the mic. She currently sings on the hit drama, This Is Us.

American Treasure was announced on the Petty channel on SiriusXM on Tuesday. Last October Petty died of an accidental overdose and now his legacy will be celebrated with never-before-heard music from his vault. This collection includes 60 tracks and will feature artwork by Shepard Fairey, 

Over the span of his career, Petty was a prolific musician releasing tons materials including 13 albums with the Heartbreakers, three solo outings, and countless covers. 

Rolling Stone reports that the box set was compiled by Petty’s daughter Adria and his wife Dana with the help of former Heartbreakers Benmont Tench, Mike Campbell and “longtime studio collaborator” Ryan Ulyate.

American Treasure is out September 28.
