]]>Netflix and Shondaland announced the names of those who will join Julie Andrews in Bridgerton. Andrews will voice the character of Lady Whistledown in the eight-episode, hourlong drama.
Phoebe Dynevor (Younger) and Regé-Jean Page (For The People) will star as leads alongside Jonathan Bailey ( Broadchurch), Golda Rosheuvel (Silent Witness), Luke Newton (The Lodge), Claudia Jessie (Doctor Who), Nicola Coughlan (Derry Girls), Ruby Barker (Doctors), Sabrina Bartlett (Knightfall), Ruth Gemmell (Deep State), Adjoa Andoh (Thunderbirds Are A Go) and Polly Walker (Pennyworth).
According to Entertainment Weekly, “the drama is set among the luxurious, cutthroat Regency London high society, and will focus on the powerful Bridgerton family comprised of eight tight-knit siblings. Passing through the glittering ballrooms of Mayfair and the aristocratic palaces of Park Lane, the group will navigate the upper ten thousand’s marriage mart in search of romance, adventure, and love.”

]]>The mega-producer is adapting the infamous story of Anna Delvey, to the little screen. Shonsaland and the streaming giant have acquired the rights to the New York Magazine article, “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People” by Jessica Pressler. Rhimes herself will pen the script.
Delvey posed as a wealthy German heiress who made her way into NYC’s social elite. She even managed to con people to fund her lavish lifestyle. She is currently being held without bond in Rikers Island prison.
This will serve as Rhimes’ first project as part of her multi-year deal with Netflix. The move from ABC to the streaming giant was announced in August 2017. News of Shondaland’s exit after 15 years from ABC, where she launched serious hits like Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder and Private Practice rocked the TV world.
At the time Rhimes said in a statement, “Shondaland’s move to Netflix is the result of a shared plan Ted Sarandos and I built based on my vision for myself as a storyteller and for the evolution of my company. Ted provides a clear, fearless space for creators at Netflix. He understood what I was looking for—the opportunity to build a vibrant new storytelling home for writers with the unique creative freedom and instantaneous global reach provided by Netflix’s singular sense of innovation.”

]]>Jessica Capshaw who plays Dr. Arizona Robbins and Sarah Drew who plays Dr. April Kepner will exit Grey’s Anatomy at the end of the current fourteenth season. The two have been series regulars for 10 and 8 seasons respectively.
Executive producer and co-showrunner Krista Vernoff said in a statement that the decision was based solely on a creative decision.
“The characters of Arizona and April are permanently woven into the fabric of Grey’s Anatomy thanks to the extraordinary work of Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew. As writers, our job is to follow the stories where they want to go and sometimes that means saying goodbye to characters we love. It has been a joy and a privilege to work with these phenomenally talented actresses.”
Creator Shonda Rhimes said, “It’s always hard for me to say goodbye to any of my characters. Both Arizona Robbins and April Kepner are not only beloved but iconic — both the LBGTQ and devout Christian communities are underrepresented on TV. I will be forever grateful to both Jessica and Sarah for bringing these characters to life with such vibrant performance and for inspiring women around the globe. They will always be a part of our Shondaland family.”
There has been growing speculations that this decision did in some way have to do with the star of the show, Ellen Pompeo, renegotiating a new deal, that gave her a significant salary increase, paying her as much as $20 million a year.

]]>When it comes to crossover, this one is like hitting the jackpot as the highly anticipated crossover between Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder is fast approaching.
ABC has finally revealed a first look of the crossover, where Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) meet. The network gave up more details revealing the episodes’ longline.
The Scandal hour is described as, “In the midst of moving on from the White House, Olivia gets an unexpected visitor in criminal defense attorney Annalise Keating, who seeks her help in fast-tracking a judicial reform class action to the United States Supreme Court. However, after Olivia’s recent fall from political grace, it’s going to be more challenging than ever to get the support they need.”
Here’s the log lone for the How to Get Away with Murder hour of the crossover, “As Annalise’s class-action case hangs in the balance, a meeting with the esteemed Washington D.C. fixer, Olivia Pope, proves to be crucial in getting the opportunity to argue her case in the nation’s highest court. Meanwhile, Bonnie discovers concerning information pertaining to Simon that threatens to expose what really happened during [the] night he was shot.”
The crossover will air March 1.

]]>The new trailer for the upcoming crossover episode of the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff introduces the heroine of Station 19.
The doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial meet for the very first time firefighter Andy Herrera played by Jaina Lee Ortiz. The trailer shows an ambulance racing to the hospital with Herrera’s hand inside an unconscious 10-year-old boy with severe internal bleeding. Herrera knows better than to listen to a surgical intern, as she fends off Glasses (Jake Borelli) who yells at her to remove her hand. Instead of doing as told, Herrera asks for a “grown-up.”
The trailer also includes brief footage of Ben Warren (Jason George) in his Station 19 gear.
The Grey’s Anatomy-Station 19 crossover episode airs March 1. Station 19 launches with a two-hour premiere on March 22.

]]>The news of Kim Raver’s return to the medical drama was confined by E! news. Following her three episode arc at the start of season 14, Raver will also make an appearance in the second half of the season.
Raver who parted from Grey Sloan at the end of season 8, was written into one of the series’ most moving storylines, the discovery that Owen’s presumed-dead sister Megan (Abigail Spencer) wasn’t actually dead. She was the one who brought her back to her former flame Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd).
While her season 14 engagement is coמfirmed, it is still unknown how many episodes Raver will take part in. Perhaps this time around we’ll finally see Teddy and Owen’s old romance rekindled.
McKidd recently spoke to E! about his character’s love life after his marriage with Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) was officially over.
“I think he’s going to have some fun finally. He’s always chased this dream of being a father and having a child and having a family unit and I think his sister coming back, and all the guilt he carried with him for so many years, has all been lifted. So suddenly he’s going, ‘Wait a minute. I can actually just enjoy myself a little bit and smell the roses and enjoy life’ instead of always chasing this dream of a family. So I think it’s been to play Owen’s lighter side and see him be kind of single because he’s had a rough road.”

]]>Ellen Pompeo will continue scrubbing in as Meredith in ABC’s hit medical drama, should the network renew the Shondaland creation.
Pompeo’s decision to extend her contract for two more seasons comes with additional responsibilities, serving as a producer, beginning midway through the current season. She will also co-executive produce an upcoming untitled Grey’s Anatomy spinoff.
According to Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, Pompeo will make a whopping salary of $550,000 per episode. This will make her the highest paid actress on television.
Though this doesn’t mean that the series will end after season 16, it doesn’t seem like Pompeo isn’t looking for new and exciting acting gigs, but rather has her eye on roles behind the camera.
“Producing and directing is where I’m challenged and where I’m learning,” Pompeo told Deadline. ”Acting, I don’t know. If the right role comes along, and it’s interesting, then never say never, but I do have three kids. I don’t necessarily want to travel around. I wouldn’t say it’s my burning desire to go act in something else.”
Even though it has yet to receive an official pick-up beyond its current 14th season, if it will run though to season 16, Grey’s Anatomy, that currently ranks third for ABC in total audience, would officially beat ER for the title of longest-running medical drama on TV.

]]>It has been officially confirmed that fans will get to see Scandal‘s Olivia Pope in the same room with How to Get Away With Murder‘s Annalise Keating.
Creator Shonda Rhimes confirmed the crossover on social media on Wednesday. She tweeted, ” People. It’s happening. @petenowalk, you ready for this? #TGITCrossover #HowtoGetAwaywithScandal. She even added a photo of the script page showing Pope and Keating meeting for the first time.
Kerry Washington and Viola Davies joined the crossover frenzy both taking to Instagram. Washington posts a pic of herself sitting on a bench in the courthouse set of HTGAWM. She added the caption, “Hey Ms @violadavis check it out. This spot look familiar?! Where are you?” Shortly after, Davis posted a pic of herself in front of Mellie’s desk on Scandal‘s Oval Office set. “Hey @KerryWashington, guess where I am?!” she captioned the snap.
With Shondaland programming returning January 18, the crossover is expected to happen around March.
