]]>The Batman is one of the films in the running for the best superhero film, along with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, DC League of Super-Pets, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Thor: Love and Thunder. It owes the rest of its nominations to its amazing cast, including Robert Pattinson, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, and Zoe Kravitz.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is right behind with a total of five nods, followed by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Bullet Train with four. RRR, Top Gun: Maverick, and Pearl are also in the running with a total of three nods each.
As for the TV categories, The Boys, Evil, House of the Dragon, and What We Do in the Shadows are the strongest contenders, with four nominations apiece. The Boys is one of the contenders for the best superhero series, along with Peacemaker and Ms. Marvel.
The Critics’ Choice Super Awards celebrate the best action, superhero, horror, science fiction, fantasy, and animated movies of the year, and the winners will be announced on March 16.

]]>The Batman director has confirmed that Colin Farrell is on board the project as Oswald Cobblepot aka Penguin in the forthcoming superhero film.
Reeves took to social media to announce the news. He tweeted gif of Farrell from the movie In Bruges with the caption: “Wait — is that you, #Oz?” with Oz being a shortened form of the DC character’s given name.
Farrell joins Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Peter Sarsgaard in a still unconfirmed role.
The Batman is currently filming and is set to hit theaters on 25 June 2021.

]]>The casting was announced Friday by the film’s director Matt Reeves who tweeted a gif of Sarsgaard accompanied by a bat emoji.
It is still unclear which role The Man in the Iron Mask and The Killing actor is set to play, however, per Entertainment Weekly, there’s speculation that Sarsgaard could be playing Harvey Dent a.k.a. Two-Face in the new film.
Starring as the titular character is Robert Pattinson. The movie also stars Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, John Turturro as crime boss Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as Batman ally Commissioner Gordon and Andy Serkis as Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred.
The Batman is expected to arrive in theaters June 25, 2021.

]]>Multiple outlets report that the Oscar nominee for Moneyball and The Wolf of Wall Street has reportedly chosen to depart from the Matt Reeves-directed The Batman.
News of Hill’s exit comes just days after it was confirmed that the project has found its Catwoman, casting HBO’s Big Little Lies star Zoe Kravitz to play Selina Kyle.
According to Variety, news of Hill’s casting surfaced very early in the negotiations and that a deal was far from closed. When reports first surfaced in September it was rumored that Hill is in talks to play either the Riddler or Penguin.
The Batman is expected to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.

The Twilight alum will play the Caped Crusader, taking over the role for Ben Affleck, who starred two films and made an appearance in a third. According to multiple outlets, negotiations are already underway and the studio intends to sign Pattinson for a three-picture deal.
The feature, an origin story, is directed by Matt Reeves, who assumed the role of director from Affleck himself back in January 2017.
Pre-production is expected to start this summer, with the film slated to arrive in theaters June 25, 2021.
