NBC has cancelled Timeless – again.
The Hollywood Repoter confirms that the network has canceled the time-travel drama from producers Sony Pictures Television Studios.
With season two ending on a major cliffhanger, fans might find some comfort that the studio and network are continuing talks for a potential two-hour movie to wrap up the series.
Actors Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, and Malcolm Barrett, who are expected to be released from their contracts by the end of the month.
Co-creator Shawn Ryan took to social media, sharing his reaction to the upsetting news: “This is a sad day for the writers, actors, crew and especially the viewers of Timeless. We are all extremely proud of what we made and know that it was more than just a show for so many of our fans. It became a passion and a cause for many of them.”

He added, “If NBC is sincere in wanting a 2 hour movie to give much needed closure to our amazing @NBCTimeless fans, we are ready to make it.”

Co-creator Eric Kripke also wrote: “Gutted by this, guys, I know you are too. Behind the scenes, Sony has been trying hard to set it up elsewhere, but no luck so far. I think this 2 hour movie is our best shot. We’re ready to make it if @nbc really wants it. Let ’em know how you feel. #clockblockers.”

THR reported that the series averaged a 1.2 in the key adults 18-49 demo and nearly 5 million total viewers with seven days of delayed viewing, with the May 13 season two finale picking up rating slightly.
