Yesterday, Netflix released a new trailer for the second season of Jessica Jones. Based on the character from Marvel Comics, Jessica Jones, the web television series is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, serving as the bridge to film franchise. Jessica Jones was one of the four series of shows which led to The Defenders crossover which premiered on Netflix in August 2017.

The series follows Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), a former super-heroine who opens her own private detective agency, Alias Investigations. The first season of the series centered on her rebuilding her life, dealing with cases involving people with extraordinary abilities and her encounter with Killgrave (David Tennant), former lover of Jessica Jones who has the ability to control people by simply giving oral commands. In the series one finale, Jones eventually faces and kills Killgrave.

The series was a huge success for the streaming service, taking home Webby Awards, Glamour Award for International TV actress and Hugo Awards.

After the events of Marvel’s The Defenders, Fans have been wondering what is in store for the next season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones. The trailer for Season 2 reveals the origin of Jessica Jones after her encounter with Killgrave. She reveals that her “whole family was killed in a car accident. Someone did horrific experiments on [her].” She adds that she was “abducted, raped and forced to kill someone.”

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg explained that Jessica Jones season 2 will have Killgrave in some episodes because “he’s such a part of her construction and her dilemma.” She adds, “I think just having him come back and be that mirror again is really important.”

The second season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones will return on Netflix on Thursday, March 8th, 2018.

On Monday, Fallon had Paul Rudd on the show as his first celebrity guest. Before Rudd came on the show, Fallon talked about the highlights of the week including some memorable moments of the Winter Olympics and The 2018 NBA All-Star Game.

Marvel’s Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler, centers on T’Challa aka Black Panther and his life in Wakanda. The film explores the challenges T’Challa must face as King of Wakanda. It stars Chadwick Boseman as the title role as well as Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis.

According to Variety, the three screenings of the film were held at the Nickerson Garden Projects, Jordan Downs Projects, and Imperial Courts Projects. This was among the many initiatives to allow fans to see the film without ‘breaking the bank’.

Another initiative was created by actress, Brie Larson. Larson, who will play Captain Marvel, posted on her personal twitter account on Friday “If you want to buy tix for people who can’t afford to see #BlackPanther at the moment, comment below. Peele explained in his WGA acceptance speech that this film was “a passion project. It was something that I put my love into, I put my soul into, so getting this from you means so much.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jordan Peele and Universal Pictures decided to give audiences a free screening in order to say “thank you” for making the movie a success. The free screening of Get Out will be at 7pm and tickets can only be picked up on President’s Day.

In an interview with Entertainment News back in 1998, Adam Sandler stated that “the main object of the movie is to make people laugh.” One of the funniest scenes in the film is Grandma Rosie (Ellen Albertini Dow) performing “Rapper’s Delight” by The Sugar Hill Gang. Barrymore stated that this film “is a good fun funny movie.” She adds that “it has all the aspects of love,[yet] it does not compromise on its humor.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis is partnering with Deadpool director, Tim Miller to develop a new X-Men spin-off which will center on X-Men character Kitty Pryde.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the untitled Kitty Pryde film is code-named “143”, which references the first Marvel issue featuring Kitty Pryde’s origin story as well as her first adventures in the X-Men universe. While no official plot was announced, fans were excited and speculated that this solo Kitty Pryde film might include her fight against the ‘demon’ called N’Garai in the X-Men mansion.

One of the favorite X-Men characters, Kitty Pryde possesses a ‘phasing’ ability which allows her, and everything she touches, to become intangible. This power also allows her to levitate objects.

While this movie has not yet officially been greenlit by Marvel and 20th Century Fox, it is still very exciting news. In the meantime, fans can be excited about the upcoming superhero films, The New Mutants, which hits theaters on February 22, 2019 and Deadpool 2, which hits theaters on May 18, 2018.

Fifty Shades Freed is directed by James Foley and stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey.The film focuses on the life of the newlywed couple and the challenges they must face together.

However, this would be the first time- the character has a stand-alone film.

According to The Guardian, this film is will be the first of many Sony films in the Marvel Universe. This Marvel Universe is separate from Marvel Studios including their new Spider man played by Tom Holland. Furthermore, this film will be R-rated compared to the traditional PG-13 rating.

Set in New York City, in the trailer we hear a monologue from Hardy’s Eddie Brock that states “Everyone’s got their thing. Maybe it’s a breakup. A death. an accident. He ends by saying, “we all have our own problems.our own issues. our own demons.” In the end of the trailer, we see Eddie Brock’s body is possessed by the alien symbiote, which gives him similar powers to our friendly neighborhood Spider-man.

Venom will hit theaters October 5th, 2018.

Since joining the Fast and Furious Franchise in Fast Five (2011), Johnson’s agent Luke Hobbs has been a fan favorite. Only after The Fate of the Furious (2017) was released, Universal Pictures started to work on this project. Universal Pictures have assigned Chris Morgan to write the script and production on the film is expected to begin August 2018.

According to Variety, the top director to helm this spin-off film is John Wick and Deadpool 2 director, David Leitch. Leitch has made a swift transition from being a stunt coordinator to becoming a director.

Leitch, along with Chad Stahelski, made his directorial debut on the 2014 action film, John Wick, which made over $90 million against a $29 million budget and received overall positive reviews from movie critics. Afterwards, he directed the 2017 action spy film, Atomic Blonde starring Charlize Theron, which made $97 million against a $30 million budget. Leitch’s work in Atomic Blonde awarded him the part of director for Deadpool 2, after the initial director dropped from the project.

According to Variety, Leitch has met with Universal Pictures’ studio executives along with Johnson and it looks very promising that Leitch will direct this Fast and Furious spin off.

Universal Pictures is expected to release the untitled Fast and Furious spin-off on July 26th, 2019.

Set to a sultry cover of “I Wont Back Down” by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, in the trailer we see Johnson defying gravity and flying through the air in order to do one thing: save his family from terrorists, who may be responsible for the blazed skyscraper. However, we do not know for sure. Can Ford use his training and skills to save his family? The Building? Himself?
