The premium cabler has picked up the Issa Rae comedy for season five three weeks after its season four premiere.

Rae, who created the show, heads the ensemble cast, which also includes Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis, Natasha Rothwell, Amanda Seales, and Alexander Hodge.

“We’re thrilled that Issa, Prentice, and the whole Insecure team will be getting back together for a fifth season,” said Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO Programming. “As we laugh and cringe with recognition, their stories make us all feel a little less alone in the world.”

Across its four seasons, the series, inspired by Rae’s web series Awkward Black Girl, has averaged a 95% critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Inspired by the classic horror franchise which was based on Clive Barker’s novella The Hellbound Heart, the series will not be a reboot of Hellraiser, but rather “an elevated continuation and expansion” of its mythology, per Variety. 

The new series will be written by Mark Verheiden and Michael Dougherty. David Gordon Green is attached to direct several episodes. Verheiden and Dougherty will also executive produce alongside Lawrence Kuppin and David Salzman, Dan Farah for Farah Films, Roy Lee for Vertigo Entertainment, and Eric Gardner for Panacea Entertainment.

Multiple outlets report that the premium cabler has picked up Westworld for a fourth season. News of the renewal of the sci-fi drama comes ahead of the conclusion of season 3, which debuted March 15. 

HBO programming president Casey Bloys said in a statement, “From the Western theme park to the technocratic metropolis of the near future, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed every twist and turn from the minds of master storytellers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. We can’t wait to see where their inspired vision takes us next.”

A release date and episode count have yet to be announced.

The cast for the Lena Dunham-directed Industry has been unveiled and includes Myha’la Herrold (The Tattooed Heart), Marisa Abela (Cobra), Harry Lawtey (Marcella), David Jonsson (Deep State), Nabhaan Rizwan (Informer), Freya Mavor (The ABC Murders), Will Tudor (Game of Thrones), Conor Macneill (Death and Nightingales), and Ken Leung (Marvel’s Inhumans).

Per Variety, the banking drama is set in the world of international finance and shows that world through the eyes of ambitious 20-somethings struggling to secure their futures. 

Industry was penned by up-and-coming Brit scribes Mickey Down and Konrad Kay. The show’s eight installments were filmed in London and Cardiff. It is executive produced by Jane Tranter, Lachlan MacKinnon, Ryan Rasmussen, Dunham, Mickey Down, Konrad Kay, and Ben Irving.

Industry is expected to debut sometime next year.

The Watergate scandal series is titled The White House Plumbers and hails from Veep executive producers Alex Gregory, Peter Huyck, and David Mandel.

The five-part series is set to dive headfirst into one of the biggest political scandals in American history. Mandel will direct from a script by Gregory and Huyck, which is based partly on public records and the book Integrity by Egil Krogh and Matthew Krogh, according to Deadline. 

“We’re excited to bring together such a talented team to take on this fascinating look at the internal machinations that brought down the Nixon White House,” said Casey Bloys, HBO programming president. “We’re especially happy to welcome both Woody and Justin back to HBO and are looking forward to getting started.”

HBO confirmed Tuesday afternoon that it has given a series order to a new series called House of the Dragon.

The prequel series based on the Fire & Blood novel was created by author George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal. 

House of Dragon is set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and chronicles the beginnings and the end of House Targaryen

“The Game of Thrones universe is so rich with stories,” said HBO programming president Casey Bloys. “We look forward to exploring the origins of House Targaryen and the earlier days of Westeros along with Miguel, Ryan and George.” 

This news comes after it was rumored that HBO had dropped another Game of Thrones prequel starring Naomi Watts that was set thousands of years before the original. A pilot episode starring Watts had been filmed in Northern Ireland.

HBO declined to comment on those reports.

The follow-up series to Downton has tapped four major names as its leads.

Julian Fellowes announced that Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Amanda Peet, and Morgan Spector have all been cast as series regulars in the drama.

The drama’s official description reads: “The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic change, of huge fortunes made and lost, and the rise of disparity between old money and new.  Against this backdrop of change, the story begins in 1882 — introducing young Marian Brook, the orphaned daughter of a Southern general, who moves into the home of her rigidly conventional aunts in New York City. Accompanied by the mysterious Peggy Scott, an African-American woman masquerading as her maid, Marian gets caught up in the dazzling lives of her stupendously rich neighbors, led by a ruthless railroad tycoon and his ambitious wife struggling for acceptance by the Astor and Vanderbilt set. The Gilded Age was first ordered to series at NBC before receiving a 10-episode commitment by HBO.
