Animals was written for Netflix by Connor McIntyre, while Billy Ray did script revisions. Netflix didn’t reveal much about the plot, but we know it will be a tense thriller, in the vein of Affleck’s previous films The Town and Argo, and it will revolve around a kidnapping.

Damon and Affleck have been friends for decades and they collaborated on several occasions after getting their big break with Good Will Hunting, which won them an Oscar for the best original screenplay. Animals will be the latest film produced through their independent film company Artists Equity, which they launched in 2022.

Animals will mark the second film directed by Affleck starring Damon in the lead role after Air, which cemented their status as one of Hollywood’s best duos.

“It felt really natural because we’ve worked together before. We’ve written together, and we’ve been acting together since 1986… To nobody’s surprise—he’s a brilliant director. He’s just absolutely great, and I can’t wait to do it again,” Damon told Vanity Fair.

The film from director Ridley Scott is an epic tale of betrayal and justice, told from three points of view — two knights whose bond is tested and a young woman, who’s forced to navigate the brutal and oppressive culture of the era in order to survive.

Driver is set to star as one of the knights opposite Matt Damon. Starring as the young woman is the Killing Eve actress Jodie Comer.

Scott is directing from a screenplay adaptation by Damon and Ben Affleck with Nicole Holofcener. 

Should the period drama get the green light from Disney and Fox, The Last Duel should begin production in early 2020.

James Mangold’s next directorial effort will capture the battle between Ford and Ferrari to win Le Mans in 1966. It will center on a determined team of American engineers and designers, led by automotive visionary Carroll Shelby and his British driver, Ken Miles, who are trying to win the race for Ford by building a brand-new trailblazing vehicle.

Christian Bale, who previously starred in Mangold’s western 3:10 to Yuma, will take on the role of Ken Miles, and he’ll be joined by Matt Damon as Carroll Shelby. The cast also includes the likes of Caitriona Balfe, Jon Bernthal, and Tracy Letts and Remo Girone as Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari.

Ford V. Ferrari is scheduled to be released on November 15th, in the peak of the awards season.

Game of Thrones star will make his SNL debut on December 8, just in time to promote DC’s latest blockbuster Aquaman. The superhero flick will premiere in the US on December 21 and it will see Momoa reprise the role of the titular character that he previously played in Justice League.

Mumford & Sons will serve as musical guests during his episode in their third outing on this show. The six-time Grammy-nominated folk-rock band will perform two songs from their new album Delta.

Matt Damon will host the show one week after Momoa, on December 15. This will be his second hosting stint on the show, but this Oscar winner actually already appeared on Saturday Night Live this season. He made a show-stealing cameo as disgraced Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Damon’s episode sounds like a must-watch – and not only because there’s a chance he’ll return as Kavanaugh. Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus will be his musical guests, and they’re planning to premiere one of the songs from Ronson’s upcoming album on the show.

The 15-second teaser showcases the star-studded cast of Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway and Awkwafina.

The teaser starts with Bullock as Debbie Ocean talking to Lou (Blanchett). The two talk about Ocean’s plan to pull off a heist at New York City’s annual Met Gala. “Why do you need to do this?” Lou asks, to which Debbie replies, “Because it’s what I’m good at.”

The teaser offers little clues regarding what is to be expected but among the rapid scene flashes, Debbie is seen sipping a martini while sitting in front of a grave that reads “Danny Ocean, 1961-2018,” suggesting that George Clooney’s character has died.

Also expected to make cameo appearances in the film are Olivia Munn, Katie Holmes, Kim Kardashian West, Kendall Jenner and Matt Damon.

Fans finally find out why everyone’s favorite celebrity BFFs didn’t spend Thanksgiving together.

Affleck planned on spending Thanksgiving with Damon and his family who live just down the street in a Los Angeles neighborhood. But it was Damon who bailed on his BFF, when he made plans for Thanksgiving with his family in Boston rather with the Batman star.

Damon tells E! that it wasn’t Affleck’s fault the two spent the day apart saying, “It is not his fault he didn’t spend Thanksgiving with me. It’s my fault that I left. I was in another state.”

Looks like spending X-mas together is also a challenge as Damon is the one with the unconfirmed holiday plans. “I try not see him as much as possible,” he teased, adding, “We may in-fact be in the same area code during Christmas. I try to crash his parties whenever I can, highfalutin affair.”

The two still gush about each other and their friendship, even after 30 years, with Damon describing Matt as “an amazing guy.”
