According to the film’s official synopsis, after dominating the boxing world, Adonis has been thriving in his career and family life. When a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy (Jonathan Majors) resurfaces, the face-off between former friends is more than just a fight.

In addition to Jordan and Majors, the cast also includes Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, Florian Munteanu, and Phylicia Rashad. Sylvester Stallone is not expected to return as Rocky Bilboa, marking this the first film in the Rocky franchise without him.

Creed III will mark Jordan’s feature directorial debut, and he felt it was the perfect time to step into this role. After playing him twice before, he believed he can tell the story of where Adonis is right now, both in front and behind the camera, instead of just executing somebody else’s vision. Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin were in charge of penning the screenplay, based on a story they co-wrote with Creed director Ryan Coogler.

Creed III was supposed to hit the theatres this fall, but it’s now set to premiere on March 3, 2023, following several delays.

The studio has been confirmed that the Michael B. Jordan thriller has been removed from the 2021 theatrical release schedule. 

Multiple outlets have reported that Paramount Pictures has removed Without Remorse from the 2021 theatrical release schedule. They have also reported that the studio is negotiating a deal to sell Without Remorse to Amazon Studios. 

The big-screen adaptation of the 1993 Tom Clancy novel of the same name, directed by Stefano Sollima, was first due to be released on October 2, 2020, before being delayed to February 26, 2021. The slot is now set to be filled with the untitled Billie Holiday biopic, directed by Lee Daniels. 

In Without Remorse John Kelly, a Navy SEAL avenges his wife’s murder by brutal drug gangsters in Baltimore only to find himself inside a larger conspiracy. The film stars Brett Gelman, Jodie Turner-Smith, Jamie Bell, Jacob Scipio, Jack Kesy, Todd Lasance, Luke Mitchell, and Cam Gigandet.

Netflix has dropped the first trailer for its latest drama — Raising Dion. The series, executive produced by Jordan, co-stars Alisha Wainwright, Ja’Siah Young, and Jason Ritter.

The streaming service’s official longline reads: “Raising Dion follows the story of a woman named Nicole (Wainwright), who raises her son Dion (Young) after the death of her husband, Mark (Jordan). The normal dramas of raising a son as a single mom are amplified when Dion starts to manifest several mysterious, superhero-like abilities. Nicole must now keep her son’s gifts secret with the help of Mark’s best friend Pat (Ritter), and protect Dion from antagonists out to exploit him while figuring out the origin of his abilities.”

Raising Dion will premiere on Netflix October 4.

Instead of creating a straight-forward music video, she wanted to make a visual sonic experience that perfectly captures the feeling of self-love, love for another, love for creating and spiritual love.

Her video features a total of three slow-motion scenes, shot in only seven seconds. Each of them reflects on different manifestations of love, with water serving as a powerful metaphor in all of the shots.

“Honestly, I think that water wanted to make its own appearance in this. It represents so many different sides. In one way it represents the struggle, in another way it represents the beauty but it never means the same thing,” explained Alicia Keys while discussing “Show Me Love” with Hypebeast.

The Grammy-nominated artist also prepared a visual installation based on this video at Dolby SoHo in New York, which can be accessed between September 18th and September 22th.

Deadline now reports that the studio is in early negotiations with Spider-Man director Jon Watts to helm the movie about the man who lived to be 969 years old.

Jordan will produce via his Outlier Society banner alongside Heyday’s David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford.

The project has been in development for quite a while now and over the years stars like Will Smith and Tom Cruise have been attached to it. Should Watts join, he will direct from a script penned by Tony Gilroy. The first draft was written back in 2014 by Zach Dean. According to sources, the scripts focused on Methuselah’s survival skills.

Jordan’s credits include Fruitvale Station and two Rocky sequels. He is best-known for his role as the antagonist Erik Killmonger in the blockbuster hit Black Panther.

AMC announced that the new drama is currently being developed under its new script-to-series model during the cable network’s Television Critics Association’s winter press tour Saturday. 

According to Variety, the series, which is set in present-day Chicago, follows Moses Johnson, a promising high school athlete, who is swept up into the infamously corrupt Chicago criminal justice system. Taken by the police as a gang member, he soon finds himself in the eye of the storm as police and prosecutors seek revenge for the death of an officer during a drug bust gone wrong.

“Award-winning writer Peter Moffat’s 61st Street is a murder mystery, courtroom drama, and an examination of race in America wrapped up into one,” AMC programming president David Madden said. “Peter justly won acclaim for Criminal Justice, the British thriller which was remade by HBO as The Night Of, and in this case he’s partnered with extraordinary producers, the Outlier Society team of Michael B. Jordan and Alana Mayo. This is an emotional and audacious piece of drama that is as timely as television gets, and we are excited to put it into a writers’ room and see where the team takes it.”

Moffat will serve as showrunner, while Jordan will exec produce via his Outlier Society banner.

The star of Marvel’s Black Panther is set to star in and produce a new action franchise, The Silver Bear. Also producing alongside Jordan are Vishal Rungta, Mark Fasano, and Ankur Rungta of Nickel City Pictures who optioned the rights to the book franchise last year.

The Silver Bear is based on the popular book series by Derek Haas, who also penned Wanted and 3:10 to Yuma. The adaptation of the assassin story helmed by Frank Baldwin follows a man who goes by the name Columbus (Jordan), the most feared and respected hitman in the criminal underworld.

“The Silver Bear is the kind of story that needs to be experienced on the big screen and Michael is the perfect movie star to inhabit the skin of this dynamic character and take us into the cinematic world of Columbus,” said Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chairman Joe Drake. “We’re incredibly honored that Michael and Nickel City chose Lionsgate to partner with in bringing this exciting property to life.”

“We could not be more excited to work with Michael and Lionsgate,” Rungta said. “We have been huge fans of Michael all the way back to his days in The Wire, and from our first meeting we knew that he was the perfect fit for the role of Columbus.”

Paramount is currently developing two movies based on the novels Rainbow Six and Without Remorse, with Black Panther star in the lead. They’ll center on a former Navy Seal turned CIA operative John Clark, who’s already been portrayed by the likes of Willem Dafoe and Liev Schreiber.

Clancy described him as the dark side of his most iconic character Jack Ryan and someone who’s more inclined to take physical action. Michael B. Jordan sounds like the perfect actor to bring him to life, but he wasn’t the first person the studio took into consideration.

Paramount Pictures started developing this film series all the way back in 2012, and they were reportedly in early negotiations with Tom Hardy. They eventually found the perfect replacement, but the project is still at the early stages of its development.

Without Remorse will serve as the origin story for the character, and tell the tale of how John Clark came to work for the CIA. Paramount is currently meeting with potential writers and directors, so it’s still unclear when we’re going to watch John Clark’s adventures on the big screen.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that the actor is in negotiations to star opposite Jordan in Just Mercy. The feature is adapted from the memoir of the same name by Bryan Stevenson. 

The story follows Stevenson’s work as a young lawyer who founded the Equal Justice Initiative, a company dedicated to defending the poor, the wrongly convicted, women and children. Foxx is set to play Walter McMillian, one of Stevenson’s earliest cases of a black man sentenced to die for a murder he insists he didn’t commit. Despite being surrounded by dozens of witnesses at the time of the murder, McMillian was convicted in a trial that lasted a day and a half and spent six years on death row. Stevenson successfully exonerated McMillian. 

Foxx will work on Just Mercy one before he suits up for the new Spawn movie.
