]]>Rihanna hit the stage in a ravishing red Loewe ensemble, which showed off her baby bump, and kicked off the halftime show with the hit song “B—h Better Have My Money”. Things only got better from there, and she managed to fit some of her biggest hits into a 13-minute performance.
Rihanna previously revealed that choosing the setlist was the most challenging part of her halftime show performance, and she came up with 39 different versions. She eventually settled for 12 songs, including “Only Girl in the World”, “We Found Love”, “Rude Boy”, and “Work” before closing the show with “Umbrella” and “Diamonds”.
Despite speculations she would bring Drake or Jay-Z out, Rihanna decided to deliver a thrilling solo performance, and her pregnancy reveal was the night’s biggest surprise. This marked her first live concert in five years, since the 2018 Grammys, and she showed the world she’s still on top of her game.
Super Bowl LVII was held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12, and the Kansas City Chiefs managed to win their second title in four years.

]]>Just last week, the Academy shared the list of 82 tracks eligible for this award, but only 15 made the shortlist and have a chance to make it to the next stage of the competition. Only five songs will be left in the running when Oscar nominations are announced on January 24, 2023.
The list of contenders includes many A-list recording artists, starting with Lady Gaga (“Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick), Rihanna (“Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), and Taylor Swift (“Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing). Golden Globe-nominated “Naatu Naatu” from RRR and “Ciao Papa” from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio also made the cut.
These five songs all received Golden Globe nominations in the same category, so they’re clear front-runners, but the shortlist also includes tracks by The Weeknd, Selena Gomez, Giveon, Jazmine Sullivan, Sofia Carlson, and Diane Warren, among others.
The 95th Academy Awards will take place on March 12, 2023 with Jimmy Kimmel returning to host for the third time.

]]>After rumors about her headlining spot went viral on Sunday, the nine-time Grammy-winning artist decided to put a stop to them. She confirmed she’s set as a Super Bowl headliner by posting a photo that shows her hand holding an NFL football.
Apple Music was recently named the official sponsor of the Super Bowl halftime show, succeeding Pepsi after almost a decade. Oliver Schusser, Apple’s VP of Apple Music and Beats, was thrilled to announce Rihanna will be the one taking charge of the inaugural Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show.
“Rihanna is an incredible recording artist who is a favorite for many millions of Apple Music customers around the world. We’re excited to partner with Rihanna, Roc Nation, and the NFL to bring music and sports fans a momentous show,” said Schusser in a statement.
Rihanna will perform at the halftime show on February 12, 2023, when the Super Bowl LVII returns to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

]]>The nine-time Grammy-winning artist recently discussed her new music and explained why she’s keeping us waiting for so long.
Rihanna did an in-depth interview with her Ocean’s Eight co-star Sarah Paulson for Interview Magazine and discussed everything from her personal life and business endeavors to new music.
Unfortunately, after Paulson asked her how much longer do we have to wait for her next album, Rihanna didn’t seem to have a clear answer. “It really does suck that it can’t just come out, because I’m working on a really fun one right now. I’m really happy with a lot of the material we have so far, but I am not going to put it out until it’s complete. It makes no sense to rush it, but I want it out,” said the singer.
Rihanna added that she’s “blocked off a solid period of time for the studio next month”, but it’s unclear if the album is coming our way anytime soon.
The 31-year-old singer is currently focusing on her newly-launched luxury fashion label Fenty under LVMH. This collaboration is an important milestone for Rihanna as she’s the first woman of color to lead an LVMH brand.

]]>The Barbados Government Information Office recently shared the news that Rihanna is getting appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. According to her new position, “Diamonds” singer will be responsible for “promoting education, tourism, and investment for the island.”
“Rihanna has a deep love for this country, and this is reflected in her philanthropy, especially in the areas of health and education,” – said Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley in a statement. “She also shows her patriotism in the way she gives back to this country and continues to treasure the island as her home. She has also demonstrated, beyond her success as a pop icon, significant creative acumen, and shrewdness in business. It is therefore fitting that we engage and empower her to play a more definitive role as we work to transform Barbados.”
This won’t be the first time, however, that Rihanna worked alongside the government of the country. Back in 2008, she served as Barbados’ Cultural Ambassador, promoting its tourism.
Now the 30-year-old is ready to help her country even on a bigger scale.
“I couldn’t be more proud to take on such a prestigious title in my home country,” – she said in a statement. “Every Barbadian is going to have to play their role in this current effort, and I’m ready and excited to take on the responsibility. I look forward to working with Prime Minister Mottley and her team to reimagine Barbados.”
Rihanna was born in one of Barbados’ parishes Saint Michael, where she started her music career at the age of 15 forming a girl group. After meeting American record producer Evan Rogers in 2003, she managed to get a record deal with his help a year later, and her meteoric rise in the music world was about to start. Now she is the best-selling music artists of all time, with 250 million sold records, and owner of numerous honors and accolades including nine Grammy Awards.

Earlier that day, her proud mother also posted a birthday message to her daughter on Instagram, sharing a childhood pic of Rihanna.
“Happy 30th. God’s blessings to my 1st born. The sweetest, most humble person I know, and most loving daughter ever. Lots of love back to you on your special day,” Monica wrote.
Rihanna’s younger brother, Rorrey, shared a picture with his sister from her Barbados street renaming ceremony in November 2017.
“Dirty 30! Massive blessings going out to you today sis! It’s amazing, all that you’ve done at such a young age. Continue to be a source of inspiration to millions around the world. I’m so proud of you and I love you!” he said.
Hours before Rihanna’s birthday, the nine-time Grammy winner said goodbye to her 20s with a fashion statement about herself. She posted a photo of herself in an oversized T-shirt with an “I Hate Rihanna,” look and in smaller print read “Don’t Trust Anyone Under 30.”
“Last day to make a bad decision and blame it on my 20’s,” she captioned the snapshot.

The Grammy-winning singer helped raise nearly $1 million for the Clara Lionel Foundation, a nonprofit named in honor of her grandparents. The glamorous celebration drew in plenty of A-listers, including Beyoncé and husband JAY-Z. This makes it the singer’s first official red-carpet event since giving birth to twins Rumi and Sir on June 13.
Beyoncé looked absolutely fabulous in a long, emerald green gown with a plunging neckline and high split with some bling on the sleeves. The “Formation” singer wore her hair down with loose curls. Jay-Z looked super handsome, clad in his tuxedo and bow tie.
Just last week, the now mother of 3, celebrated her 36th birthday, with friends and family making this b-day extra special with husband JAY-Z getting the crowd at the Budweiser’s Made In America Festival in Philadelphia to serenade happy birthday to his Queen Bee as well as receiving special made Beyoncé themed cookies and cakes a local bakery to add some sweetness to the celebrations.
