]]>John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, announced the list of contenders and said it reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates.
“Continuing in the true spirit of Rock & Roll, these artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps,” said Sykes in a press release.
In addition to Cher, known as the goddess of pop, the R&B sensation Mariah Carey, and the British rock band Oasis, the list of nominees also includes nine-time Grammy winner Mary J. Blige, rock singer Lenny Kravitz, and the late Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor.
Ozzy Osbourne received an individual nomination, after being inducted into the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame with Black Sabbath in 2006. Several previous nominees are in the running again, including A Tribe Called Quest and Dave Matthews Band
The list of inductees will be announced in April, and they’ll be honored at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2024 Induction Ceremony in Cleveland this fall.

]]>“All I Want for Christmas” returned to No. 1 with 48.4 million streams, 31.7 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 7,000 downloads, spending the fifth holiday season in a row atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This marks the 14th non-consecutive week this song spent at No. 1, helping Carey make history in the process. She’s currently the only artist to have three songs with 14 or more weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart, following the success of her Boyz II Men collaboration “One Sweet Day” and her 2005 single “We Belong Together”.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” isn’t the only holiday song to make it to the Billboard Hot 100 just in time for Christmas. Jack Harlow’s “Lovin On Me” was actually the only non-holiday title within the top ten at No. 6, behind Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock”, Wham!’s “Last Christmas”, and Burl Ives’ “A Holly Jolly Christmas” in the top five.

She dethroned Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, which spent two weeks at No. 1 after topping the Billboard Hot 100 65 years after its original release.
“All I Want for Christmas” returned to No. 1 with 42.2 million streams, 26.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 8,000 downloads for its 13th non-consecutive week atop the chart. This marks the fifth holiday season this song spent at No. 1 and its sixth nonconsecutive ascent to the top of the Hot 100, breaking the record previously shared by Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” and Harry Styles’ “As It Was”.
“All I Want for Christmas” is in a pretty festive company on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week, since holiday classics are ruling the chart. In addition to Brenda Lee’s “Christmas Tree” at No. 2, Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock”, Wham!’s “Last Christmas”, and Burl Ives’ “A Holly Jolly Christmas” also made it to the top five this week.

]]>“All I Want For Christmas” returned to No. 1 for the third time this season alone, logging its 11th week atop the Hot 100. Its rise to prominence started in 2019, when it topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time, 25 years after its original release.
“All I Want For Christmas” set the new record for the longest span for a song atop the Hot 100. It initially soared to No. 1 on December 21, 2019, and topped the chart on 11 occasions over the span of three years and one week, ending with December 31, 2022 chart.
Carey also extended her record for a total of weeks at No. 1 with 90 and wrote that she was “jumping up and down in the snow” from excitement after the news broke. It will take a while before someone breaks her record—the second-ranked Rihanna only has 60 weeks atop, followed by The Beatles with 59 and Drake with 54.

]]>Multiple outlets confirm that Carey is the first artist to hit No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 in four separate decades.
Now that her holiday hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” tops the domestic chart for a third consecutive week, Carey has ranked atop the Hot 100 in the ’90s, ’00s, ’10s & ‘20s.
The song, originally released in 1994, became Carey’s 19th No. 1, which also gave her the title of most No. 1 singles for a solo artist in history.
Carey had the best response to becoming the first artist to rule the Billboard Hot 100 in four decades.

The multi-award-winning singer took to Twitter following the announcement to share the excitement with her fans writing, “We did it

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” previously peaked at No. 3 in 2018 and now it makes Carey’s 19th overall No.1 achievement.

]]>The 49-years-old musical icon took to the challenge her well, Mariah Carey style. While the original Bottle Cap Challenge that requires the participant to unscrew the cap of a bottle via roundhouse kick, Carey used her vocals.
Carey customized the challenge to suit her strength and talent and instead of kicking the cap off, she releases one of her signature high notes, adding that famous finger to the ear move of course, and the bottle cap flies right off.
Her version of the challenge shared on Instagram Sunday has been watched over three million times already!
She joins other celebs who have taken on the Bottle Cap Challenge including John Mayer, Blake Shelton, Ellie Goulding as well as David Spade, Ryan Reynolds and Jason Statham. According to the New York Times, the challenge was started by Kazakh taekwondo champion Farabi Davletchin.

“The sessions with the contestants, some of them have completely blown me away,” said Carey during her appearance on NBC’s Today. “It’s like a humbling experience to be around all the raw talent.”
Carey will make The Voice debut on Monday, October 29th when the show returns to television for knockout rounds.
Mariah Carey is also busy with preparing her fifteenth studio album Caution, which will be available on November 16, 2018. She already presented two singles from the album, “GTFO” and “With You,” both of which received positive reviews from the critics. Carey also announced that she will support the album with a tour across North America, which will see her visiting 22 cities from February 27th to April 6th.

]]>Mariah Carey has just announced the dates for the North American leg of her Caution World Tour to promote her upcoming 15th studio album Caution.
The 22-city trek will kick off on February 27th at Dallas, Texas’ the Pavilion will close in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on April 6th.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public starting October 26, but Legacy members of her official fan community, Honey B. Fly, will receive first access to buy tickets on October 23. According to the Rolling Stone, each Caution World Tour ticket purchased online will be accompanied by one digital or physical copy of Caution, which drops on November 16th.
